Top 2025 Recruit Joson Sonon Has UConn Basketball in His Top Six
AAU Season Begins, UConn Looking for Elite Prospects
The break for Coach Danny Hurley after leading UConn to their fifth national championship was a short one and he is now fully in recruiting mode. The AAU season has begun and UConn is already in pursuit of elite prospects on the EYBL circuit.
One of the top targets for the Huskies is 2025 recruit Joson Sonon. Sonon, a 6-foot-5 guard from Westtown School in Pennsylvania, is ranked No. 6 in the 247Sports Composite Rankings for the 2025 class. He is a skilled three-level scorer who has become a more viable playmaker in recent months.
Sonon has already taken an official visit to UConn and has the Huskies in his top six. He is also considering offers from Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Villanova.
Hurley and his staff are hoping to add Sonon to a 2025 recruiting class that already includes four-star recruits Jayden Hastings and Solomon Ball.
The 2025 recruiting class is shaping up to be a special one for UConn. The Huskies are in the running for several of the top prospects in the country and could put together a class that could compete for a national championship.
Here is a look at the current 2025 Connecticut Basketball Commits:
- Jayden Hastings (4-star, SG)
- Solomon Ball (4-star, PG)
- Joson Sonon (Uncommitted, 5-star, SG)
